March 2, 2017, Nate Gross, assistant tennis professional at Belvedere Tennis Club in Tiburon, came to Benicia High School to teach our members about a sport he is passionate about sharing with tennis players called Spec Tennis. Spec Tennis is played on pickleball size courts with decompression tennis balls and the same paddles used for platform or paddle tennis (a sport more widely known on the east coast because it allows for heating systems beneath the court surface).
The event was incredibly fun with a quick learning curve as you can see from the video Nate put together of our newbie players. He is willing to come out again and do another demonstration, so if you are interested, please let us know in the comment section below!
